Young Author’s Tale is Straight from the Heart!

This past summer, MBC and I met a young author who enthusiastically told us about the book she had written that would soon be published. With its intriguing title, “The Upside Down Heart,” we were eager to read it! Fortunately, we recently found it on Amazon, available as a Kindle book.

Author Kate Simmons has created a charming story and picture book about a heart that was not “perfect like everyone else.” The upside down heart’s appearance caused him sorrow as other hearts made fun of him. It seems that an upside down heart can still be a good heart.

A crisis gives the upside down heart a chance to perform a good deed. This causes the other hearts to reconsider their attitudes, and look beyond appearances. Not only is there a “change of heart” at the end of the story, but readers are encouraged to participate through their own drawings and creative musings.

As always, we are thrilled when young authors persevere and make their dreams come true. Congratulations to Kate for creating a book with a “heartwarming” message for all ages!

And for all you aspiring authors out there, remember: “Keep reading and writing!”
